"And into the forest I go, to lose my mind and find my soul." β Mariah-Danu
That quote really resonates with me. Getting outside is a great source of happiness for me. It relieves my stress, cures my sadness, intensifies my contentedness and touches my soul. The effect the outdoors has on me could have a good deal to do with my childhood. I spent a lot of my childhood camping at the lake with my family. In a tent early on and moving up to a trailer later on. Swimming, fishing (my dad mostly), boat rides, cooking out and taking little hiking adventures were a regular occurrence. The lake land we stayed on eventually sold and we stopped going to the lake so regularly. With that, my love for the outdoors got buried in my soul and replaced with an admiration for cute clothes, shoes and bags. It wasn't until my first trip to Colorado as an adult that my love for the outdoors truly ignited again. That was nine years ago, and Ryan and I try to get outside as much as we can.
Where are you going on your next adventure (big or small)?
Sincerely,
W
