Here is the one rule that I typically follow to create a successfully coordinated pattern play look. It is super simple. SUPER simple! Are you ready for it...coordinating colors. Red in the jacket and red in the turtleneck and done! That's all there is to it, folks. :) Well, that's if you want a coordinated pattern play look. If you want a complimentary look, well that really comes down to personal preference and your vision. I feel like that level of pattern play can't be taught. It's a gift. ;D Haha #butreally
Now let me see your coordinating pattern play looks. Share them in the comments section below, pretty please. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Let's just talk about this wall mural. It is the star of this blog post, and quickly becoming my favorite wall art in KC. It was painted by the talented artist at Rif Raf Giraffe. A little secret, it isn't even finished yet! He still needs to finish up the outlines and details. I can't wait to see the beauty of the completed creation. I am 100% positive that I will be visiting this magical wall time and time again. Tell me what you think of this wall art in the comments below.
Now for the outfit. My first reaction to styling this skirt was to pair it with a floral or polka dot top and maybe some striped shoes. You know, my go-to pattern play. Then I thought I would change things up a bit and let the skirt stand on it's own (especially against this magnificent wall). I think the final look definitely makes a statement but an understated one. Well, as understated as a full circle skirt can be. Haha! By pairing this darling skirt with a grey cropped sweater the skirt gets to be the star. By adding the layered necklaces and bright pink Mary Janes this looks stays true to me. And I like to wear my clothes, not let my clothes wear me. :)
Thank you for visiting!
Sincerely,
W
p.s. Speaking of pattern play, this wall has so much happening. It is may just show up my pattern play skills. haha Be sure to head over to Rifrafgiraffe.com to check out his other works of art.

Pattern play is my thing. You guys should know that by now. :) This sweater has pattern play with stripes on stripes on stripes. The perfect sweater if you ask me. It is cozy and roomy, which is perfect for pizza dates or anytime I eat actually. lol I love food. So, this sweater is friendly to those who enjoy to eat like I do. haha As far as styling this sweater or any oversized sweater, I tend to stick to skinny jeans to keep the look proportionate to my body frame. Billowy sweaters and super flares would overwhelm my smaller build if worn together.
How about the boot socks?! I am sooo loving this particular pair and have to have them showing. Why would I want to hide these cute and warm socks under my jeans? I wouldn't.
Thanks as always for stopping by. I hope you are enjoying my 2017 looks so far. I have so much more to share. You are going to love it!

Hiking // Jord Wood Watches
Outfit Details: Tank top: Old Navy (old), Similar. Plaid top: Old Navy (sold out), Similar. Shorts: Old Navy. Watch: Jord Wood Watches. Sandals: Columbia. Sunglasses: Nordstrom, Similar.
One of my favorite things to do is to get outside and hike. I try to do it as much as possible. So, it was only appropriate that the Ryan (my manfriend) and I spend my birthday hiking. We headed up to Parkville Nature Sanctuary to see this beautiful waterfall. We had the best time experiencing the sanctuary for the first time. I can't wait to get back up there to see the fall foliage.
Speaking of time, Ryan has a very busy work schedule and we try to make sure the time we get to spend together really counts. Jord Wood Watches believes "moments are bigger than minutes and your watch should tell more than time," which is why it was a no-brainer when Jord reached out to me. This watch company makes some of the most unique and creative timepieces I have ever seen. The range of wood bands gives every watch style a super distinct look. They are so eye catching, and I get tons of compliments every time I wear my Jord watch. They even custom fit the watch to your wrist size. How cool is that?
These hand-crafted wood timepieces tell such a neat story that I have partnered with Jord Wood Watches in a giveaway for you! Enter to win a $75 e-gift code to use toward a @woodwatch_com purchase. SheIn Abstract Skirt
Outfit Details: Skirt: SheIn. Shoes: Top Shop, Similar. Tee: Forever 21 (old), Similar. Bag: ASOS (sold out). Lipstick: Urban Decay in 69. Sunglasses: Prada.
Like so many women I know, a cute piece of clothing at a bargain price instantly makes it way to my bag. Be it online or in store.
When SheIn reached out to me to collaborate I started scouring through their loads of super cute products and great deals. I kept adding and adding products to my bag. This is how I shop, btw. I add any and everything that peaks my interest then edit it down once I've gone through all of the categories I'm interested in.
I narrowed down my bag to the above skirt. It has all the details that I look for in my clothing. Colors, patterns, sass and femininity all rolled into one. The skirt arrived in a very timely manner and fit perfectly. It was a one size fits all, so I was kind of skeptical. I couldn't be happier with my choice. I can't wait to style it with a sweater for the winter.
As soon as I picked out this skirt I knew I had to style it in my signature fashion...pattern play. I couldn't waste such a fun print with just any shirt. I have been wanting to share this Eiffel Tower tee for awhile, and I think it is a perfect match to this skirt.
Thank you so very much for stopping by! I hope this outfit inspires you to try a little pattern play. It is such a fun way to "mix" things up.
Sincerely,
W

Floral Wall Goodness
Outfit Details: Dress (old), Similar, Similar, Similar, Similar. Shoes: Just Fab, Similar, Similar. Bag: ASOS, Similar. Sunglasses: Quay Australia.
Sometimes your surroundings speak for themselves. That is completely true for this wall. You probably know by now that I have a huge appreciation for bold color and floral. With that being said, this wall and I were meant to be! You will definitely be seeing more of this wall going forward. Ryan and I continue to obsessively look for cool walls here in the Kansas City area, and I like to think that we have found several. If you are ever in town, be sure to keep your eyes peeled for wall murals around every corner.
I have had this dress for quite a while now. The colors, print and weight of this dress make them perfect summer. This dress also pair well with flats and sandals for a more casual look.
As always, be sure to Trust Your Closet. :)
Thank you so much for stopping by! I appreciate every single visit.

Romantically Parisian
Outfit Details: Top: ASOS (sold out), Similar, Similar, Similar. Skirt: Chicwish (sold out), Similar, Similar, Similar. Bag: Target (sold out), Similar, Similar, Similar. Shoes: Colin Stuart (old), Similar, Similar.
I realized after styling this look that it had a very Parisian feel. And I love that! I have never been to Paris (or France for that matter), but I imagine it is just as lovely as my friends have described it to be. Oui Oui. ;)
Since Paris is known as the City of Love, a Valentine's Day look this outfit had to be. Floral, stripes and a full skirt...I can't get enough! This is definitely my favorite look of my Valentine's Day series for it's ultra feminine and super romantic vibe. A style I truly adore and need to aspire to wear more often.
Romantically feminine and Romantically Parisian.
Thank you all for stopping by. Je t'aime!
Sincerely,
W
