As you can tell from my blog and Instagram posts, I ADORE color, and Kate & Moose has plenty of color to offer. A lot of love and hard work goes into each and every piece of jewelry Kate (of Kate & Moose) hand crafts.
Although I love the bold look of a statement necklace, sometimes you just need dainty pieces, and the delicate and layerable look is my preference these days. The variety of colors and layering ability of Kate's jewelry creates looks that range from subtle to show stopper.
The next time you are in the market for jewelry check out Kate & Moose's hand crafted, love filled pieces. The giftable time of year will be here before know we it!
Thanks for checking in!
Sincerely,
W

Peplums are super fun to wear, and easy to style. Below are the two rules I use for styling peplums.
1. If you are in the mood to wear flats with your peplum opt for paring them with skinny jeans. The voluminous top needs to be offset with the to-the-body silhouette the skinny jean offers. Remember, when styling peplums you want to elongate your body. I know I don't need to look any shorter. lol
2. If you are feeling sassy and want to wear your biggest pair of heels, I say go for a flared jean. The voluminous top paired with flares and HEELS will give the illusion of long legs, which is what all of us shorties really want anyway.
In my world, flats and skinnies equal chic put together outfits and flares and heels equal cool and confident looks. Flats and flares equal frumpy.
I hope these Trust Your Closet styling tips help you to be confident as you walk out the door. Thanks so much for stopping by!
Sincerely,
W

I am changing things up on the blog today. Going forward, I am going to shorten up my blog posts. I would like to try giving you tips, tricks and advice instead of long stories about why I chose an outfit. I will definitely share more if my outfit has a fun or sentimental story behind it. I am a sentimental kind of gal after all. Please let me know what you think by liking the post or leaving comments in the comments section.
So here goes...
When you can't find anything to wear or you are just bored of your standard go-tos, the crisp and classic, white button up is always a great choice. To spice up this classic piece (adding the "cool" in Crisp, Cool & Classic) try a half tuck and some distressed denim. Not into the half tuck, try knotting it to the side or crisscrossing one side over the other with a full tuck. These styling details make you look effortlessly chic. And who doesn't want to look effortlessly chic? I am pretty sure that is what we are all going for to begin with.
Thank you so much for stopping by my digital walk-in closet. And as always, Trust Your Closet. xoxo
Sincerely,
W

Our love affair with Kansas City started nearly 4 years ago when we moved here for career opportunites. It is such a wonderful city that offers a warm welcome to all. This city is fun, energetic and full of culture. A few things Kansas City is most commonly know for are BBQ, fountains, sports (in a positive way as of recent) and jazz.
I love BBQ, adore baseball and I definitely enjoy jazz music, but my favorite KC things are the cultural activities and entrepreneurial spirit. If I could split my days between Union Station, the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts and the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art, I would. I just need to find out what career would allow for that and I would be set for life.
Kansas City's entrepreneurial spirit is contagious. I know it played a part in pushing me to start Trust Your Closet and inspires other business ideas I have. There are so many startups here, and it is a great pleasure of mine to give them my business as much as I can. Outside of tech startups, KC is becoming well-known for it's t-shirt businesses. Who doesn't love a great t-shirt? I certainly do! The majority of the KC t-shirt companies create KC and Missouri/Kansas themed tees. Some designs create camaraderie, some make you laugh, some bring back memories and some call attention to a cause. The next time you are suffering from gifters block, shop local. Create that love and pride for your community that KC is so great at evoking.
This city wraps you up and holds you tight. We have a mad love affair for ol' KC, and I don't see it dissipating anytime soon. If you are visiting KC be sure to stop and enjoy the local restaurants and bars, startups and cultural venues. You just may fall head-over-heels.
Thank you so much for following along. And as always, Trust Your Closet.
Sincerely,
W
p.s. Here are some of my favorite Kansas City t-shirt shops. Charlie Hustle, The Bunker, Sandlot Goods, Freely Given, Ocean & Sea, Bellboy Apparel and Normal Human.
p.p.s. Isn't this Lance Flores wall mural beautiful and super cool?! Ryan and I found this wall, and knew we had to use it for this blog post. It encompasses all of what KC is know for. For those of you who are curious, it is located on the backside of 1889 Napoletana Pizza, a local pizza place coming in March. I CANNOT WAIT TO TRY IT. I also have a love affair with pizza! lol
