Happy Blogiversary to me! Happy Blogiversary to me! I started Trust Your Closet just one year ago this month. And what a fun and fast year it has been. Like I state in my Instagram profile, I am a style chameleon. My taste not only changes from year to year but day to day. I absolutely love getting dressed and the freedom that comes along with expressing myself through my outfits. I have become addicted to sharing my looks and adventures with you all. I truly have. Just ask Ryan.
I have learned so much about myself and the blogging community over the last year. I've been super proud of myself at times and discouraged at other times. Despite what some may think, blogging isn't a cake walk, especially if you have a career outside of it. My bills and clothes won't pay for themselves! Ha. I have spent countless hours writing blog posts, planning photo shoots (outfits, locations, shots, etc.), editing photos, supporting fellow bloggers and much more. Blood, sweat, tears and some frozen fingers and toes literally go into keeping TYC up and running. Maintaining a career, a personal life and a blog takes a lot of resiliency and support.
And speaking of support, I have to send out many thanks to many people. First, to my Style Collective sisters. What an amazing bunch of strong, smart, sassy and stylish (of course) women you all are. I would have been totally lost on how the blogging world works without your knowledge and support. I am so grateful and thankful I found you. We rise by lifting others is the mantra of this all women group. And we are rising together.
Second, to my family and friends. You gave me the confidence to start this blogging adventure and I am so thankful to you. Your sweet words, reposts and shares through social media make my heart so happy. Your personal messages of support and pride in me help me continue to know that I am traveling down the right path. I appreciate and love you all so very much. Thanks for being my step in photogs every now and then too! xo
Third, to my followers and readers. Thank you so so much for stopping by and listening to my fashion stories and non-fashion stories and for seeking out my fashion advice. I'm pretty sure I need to update my resume to stylist. ;D I want you to know that I see everyone of your comments and likes and appreciate them all more than you will ever know. Thanks for sticking with me. You are awesome!
Last but absolutely not least (the BEST really), I have to thank my ah-mazing and kind manfriend (because I'm too old to call him a boyfriend), Ryan. Without him none of this would be possible. I mean none of this. He is my photographer, photo editor, copy writer, soundboard, location scout, partner in crime, ROCK, relentless cheerleader and much much more. He lifts me up when I'm down, he lifts me even higher when I am on cloud 9 and he spoils me in every way possible. He never tells me no, yet manages to keep me balanced and makes me think things through. He makes me a better person and inspires me with his kind heart and work ethic every single day. I am hoping he can be more of a presence on TYC in the new year. I know you all will love him as much as I do. Well, maybe not as much as I do, but a lot. haha
I hope that Trust Your Closet has helped you to step out of your comfort zone and really experience how fun getting dressed can be if you just open yourself up to it. Thank you to everyone for your continued support and interest in my digital walk-in-closet. It means more to me than you will ever know.
I can't wait to continue this wild ride into 2017. xoxo
Sincerely,
W
p.s. We had to fight with the rain for this shoot. There definitely should have been more confetti! Blame it on the rain. ;D
