Valentine's Day in another holiday that I can use as an excuse to wear red. And I have to admit, red is my very favorite color, so if I can get away with wearing head-to-toe red, I certainly will. Red on red = a made for each other pairing. <3 <3 <3
Monochromatic looks are the trick to creating a super chic wardrobe. And chances are your have the pieces to create these looks in your closet already. So, how do I create a monochromatic look that doesn't look like a onesie or footy pajamas? lol Textures are the key! The more textures you can mix the better. For this particular red on red look I mixed my sequin leggings with a knit sweater, leather pumps and a beaded necklace. The mixture of textures in the same color add interest and pop while keeping this look from falling flat. This made for each other pairing is sure to make hearts flutter this Valentine's Day.
For your next date night reach for a monochromatic look instead of that ol' standby. You are sure to turn heads even though you already do.
Thanks for stopping by! xoxo
p.s. How cool is this wall mural?! There are so many incredible artists around KC that I think I could do several posts on wall art alone.
