Style Collective Sparkle & Shine Style Challenge - Day 3: Winter Coat
Let's just say that I am a coat girl. I have several coats, but several just isn't enough. Haha! I don't miss out on a good outerwear sale, ever. When I saw this coat on sale I knew I had to buy it. I mean, I don't have a grey coat, so...
Coats are super easy to accessorize and they can take your look from drab to fab in an instant. Throw your dressy coat on over your leggings, wrap a cute scarf around your neck and slap on some lipstick. This immediately elevates your look from slobby Bobbie to put-together Paulie.
For my coat pictured above, I didn't want to take too much away from the cool toggles it has, so I elevated my look by adding my pom-pom beanie, OTK boots and pulled my sweater sleeves through to show off the bead and crystal details.
Don't be scared to be adventurous with your coats. They don't have to be worn the way you buy them at the store. Make them playful by securing them with a wrap belt or changing out the standard buttons for sparkly or patterned buttons. If those are too adventurous for you, switch out your go-to scarf and mittens for a patterned scarf and a pom-pom beanie. Or simply add a brooch from your grandmother's large collection. I love adding sentimental pieces to looks. It makes your outfit a little more special.
Thank you so much for stopping by!
For the ladies on your list that have everything, including a fabulous coat, give them a reason to trade in their standard scarf and stocking cap for a bold scarf paired with a pom-pom beanie. Help add some sparkle and shine to their coat lapel with a beautiful brooch, whether that be from a special family member or bought brand new.
