I swear I was born with a forehead full of wrinkles. They've been there since I can remember and are one of my top insecurities. With that being said, I have always thought about getting Botox to smooth them out. I've also thought I should just get over the wrinkles. Easier said than done for sure.

Bare Med Spa not only offers amazing facials, they offer Botox treatments. With the encouragement of some of my friends (whom have had Botox themselves), I decided to go for it. And let me tell you...I love the results!

I was a little nervous about the needles and the process, so I made one of my friends go with me. Everything is better with a friend and partner in crime, right? It turns out I was nervous for no reason at all. The needle is really tiny and the poking feels more like a teeny bee sting. The woman who injected the Botox was very knowledgeable and made me feel really comfortable. She assured me I would not leave looking like I had Botox.

It took a full week for the results to start showing up for me but it is different for everyone. I love the results and plan to continue on with treatments when this round wears off. If you are considering Botox, get it! Don't go overboard with it but definitely get it.

Be sure to check out Bare Med Spa for all of your skincare and Botox needs. They have changed my skin for the better! Thank you for stopping by.

Sincerely,

W

p.s. Ask for Audrey if you are interested in Botox. She is the best!

Another visit to Bare Med Spa has left me in awe. I am declaring an official addiction to facials. My second HydraFacial was even better the second time around. I think my esthetician, Nikki, was more familiar and comfortable with me and my skin type so she was able to be more vigorous with the facial.

I had some dryness and "build up" across my cheeks and nose and the HydraFacial has really helped re-hydrate those areas. Of course my chin was/is broken out so Nikki focused in on that area and was able to get some of my deep pimples to come to the surface. She also used a treatment mask all over my face and it was great. To be honest, the treatment mask had a burning sensation at first, but dissipated after a minute or so. Pain is beauty, right? LOL It wasn't that bad.

The results really were immediate. My skin looked more hydrated, clearer and radiant. Once again, if you are in the KC area Bare Med Spa is a must. Facials and spa packages make for great gifts, btw. I want to gift a HydraFacial to everyone I know. Hello Mothers Day!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Sincerely,

W

p.s. Check out Bare Med Spa's membership program. It's a good one!

HydraFacial // Bare Med Spa

I have been a skincare fanatic for quite sometime now. I worked in the beauty industry for five years. However, I haven't really been into the skincare services and treatment side of the business. Facials, Botox and body treatments never interested me much until I turned 30. I recently partnered up with Bare Med Spa here in the Kansas City area, and they have opened my eyes. I may have a new facial addiction thanks to Bare Med Spa.

Nikki Garey, a Bare Med Spa Esthetician, gave me my first facial. The super popular HydraFacial. It was a fantastic experience! I HIGHLY recommend this facial and Nikki. Nikki is very knowledgeable on the benefits of the facial, and the products and services that best suit your skin type. She is an expert with skin. She made me feel super comfortable with the process and future services.

Back to the HydraFacial. I have combination skin with dry cheeks, an oily t-zone and acne scarring. One of the great things about the HydraFacial is that it works for all skin types, even sensitive skin like mine. It was explained to me to be similar to microdermabrasion but with water, which made sense to me. According to barmedspa.com, the HydraFacial exfoliates dead skin cells and extracts impurities while it restores skin hydration that will enhance the overall health of your skin. This facial did absolutely that for my face. Afterwards my skin felt clean, smooth, surprisingly radiant and most importantly HYDRATED.

I have already scheduled my second HydraFacial (monthly procedures are recommended). We will be adding more services to the HydraFacial that are more specific to my skin issues next time. I cannot wait to share all of those details with you guys, so stay tuned!

Sincerely,

W

p.s. Bare Med Spa also provides spray tanning. I treated myself to one and definitely recommend this service to any and everyone (before and after pictured above). They use Norvell tanners (one of my faves). Ask for Lindsey. She is awesome!

A Hair Story

I have received several compliments and inquires about my hair throughout my blogging adventure so far, so I thought I would share my hair history with you guys. Well, believe it or not I was born with red hair. That red hair changed to white blonde as a child (toe head right here) and then a darker blonde with red undertones as a teenager and adult. My friends and family know how much I love red hair, so it was no surprise to them when I decided to go super strawberry blonde several years ago. This "super" strawberry blonde that I tend to go for fades rather nicely into a golden and coppery red that is easily maintainable for me, which I love!

When I moved to Kansas City I knew part of the adjustment would be finding the perfect hair stylist for me and my love of red. First world problems, I know. [Insert eye roll here] Stylists that enjoy using red color and are good at it are hard to come by. With that being said, it has been my experience that a good majority of stylists are scared of using reds. Again, that is just my experience. Yours may be different. I ended up trying several stylists within my first few years in KC and was okay with the results but not in love. And then one day a coworker told me about Sadie. A stylist that really enjoyed getting creative with color and just so happened to be AMAZING with red tones. And wasn't afraid or intimidated by it! I made an appointment immediately following my coworker's recommendation and have never looked back. She is great with ALL color and cuts. She's kind, creative and listens to what you want while still stamping her own mark and expertise on your hairstyle.

If you are in the KC area and need anything done to your hair, Sadie is your girl. She works at Chop Tops is Westport, which is a rather cool salon and barbershop with Craftsman tool boxes as work stations, velvet paintings as decor and wall murals. You know how much I love a good wall mural. If Sadie isn't available (she is expecting a new baby boy anytime now), Chop Tops has many other talented hairstylists that will help you look your very best.

Get to know Sadie and a few of her hair secrets below:
TYC: How long have you been in the hair industry?
S: I have been doing hair for six years
TYC: How do you stay motivated/inspired?
S:I stay motivated and inspired by keeping up with the trends and continuing learning about what's new and works for my clients.
TYC: What is your favorite thing about your career?
S: My biggest thrill is helping my clients feel and look their best. Also I am always up for a good challenge or changing up a total look for a client.
TYC: What are your everyday hair tips/tricks?
S: DRY SHAMPOO!!!! Today's fashion leans more natural waves, and body. So sometimes less is more with styling.
TYC: How do you keep your hair healthy and growing?
S: Biotin is great for hair growth, and natural vitamin D like sunlight. Having and maintaining healthy hair comes from so many places. Healthy dieting is a good start, actually drinking water and staying hydrated. Using a good leave in conditioner ALSO my favorite, a solid heat protectant for all the curling and straightening we tend to do.

I hope you have enjoyed learning a little more about my hair history and my favorite hair girl, Sadie. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Sincerely,

W

*A special thank you to Sadie for collaborating with me on this post. Check out more of Sadie's work here!
